Bill Maher: I Am More Concerned About Donald Sterling Taping than the NSA

On MSNBC’s “All In” on Tuesday, HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher reacted to the news and the fascination fueling the coverage of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling racist remarks.  Maher referred to different instances of condemnation of racist remarks in the past including Paula Dean and Don Imus.

But he also said there was cause for concern when it comes to how the audio of Sterling had surfaced and how that audio is actionable.

“[T]he creepy part is when you get taped in your own house and then that goes to the world,” Maher said. “Again, no one here is defending Don Sterling. But that’s what’s creepy to me is that we can’t even speak in our own house anymore. I don’t know how the tape gets out there. I don’t know why it’s legal. But I am much more concerned about things like that than I am the NSA, which I am concerned about, too.”
