On Thursday’s broadcast of NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” lookalikes comedian Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith competed in a so-called drum-off for charity. But Ferrell played the trump card by reviving the cowbell from his “Saturday Night Live” skit from 2000, which he appeared with Christopher Walken along with Fallon, as an episode of VH1’s “Behind the Music” highlighting the band Blue Öyster Cult, with the segment ending with the rest of the Red Hot Chili Peppers playing “Don’t Fear the Reaper.”
