The parents of U.S. Army Lt. Darren Andrews, who was killed searching for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl told Fox News Channel “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy that they were initially told that their son was killed looking for a Taliban commander. They stated that they later “found out through Facebook of all ways that he was killed while they were on a mission looking for Bergdahl.”
They said that Andrews regarded Bergdahl as a deserter, and believed there was “definitely a cover-up” regarding their son’s death. The family also expressed their desire that Bergdahl be tried as a deserter and their belief that their son did not have to die.
