Tuesday on MSNBC “Morning Joe” when asked by co-host Mika Brzezinski if the five Taliban prisoners swapped for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl could potentially return to the fight against America, House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) (R-MI) said, “I believe three of the five for sure, likely four, and I think there is one possibly that might not happen.”
The five prisoners who have been called “the hardest of the hard-core” by former vietnam prisoner of war Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) include Mullah Mohammad Fazl, Taliban army chief of staff and Mullah Norullah Noori a senior Taliban military commander. Both are wanted by the UN for war crimes including the murder of thousands of Shiites. The agreement stipulates the five are to be held in Qatar for a year.
