Rogers: Iraq Al Qaeda Affiliate 'Most Well-Financed'

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) described the situation in Iraq as “an unmitigated disaster” in an interview on The Laura Ingraham Show on Thursday. Rogers relayed figures that say Iraq’s al Qaeda affiliate had gained $400 million by raiding banks. He said that even if the affiliate only has 10 percent of that amount, they would be the “most well-financed al Qaeda affiliate in the world and it’s getting worse.”

Rogers added that previously, the United States has seen terrorist safe havens popping up in Fallujah with radical Islamists who are “Americans and Europeans, which means they have good passports, they get to come home if they don’t meet their end on the battlefield.”

He also criticized Obama, who Rogers stated has done nothing but “hide under the desk.”
