Ingraham Blasts Cantor: 'Can't Take a Joke' Is Probably 'Why He Lost'

While campaigning for David Brat, who emerged as the victor in a race against House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor’s (R-VA) in the Virginia primary, conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham said “I kind of wish, thinking about this, that President Obama would have thought this through a little bit more. And maybe, for getting Sgt. Bergdahl out of captivity, instead of sending five Taliban MVPs over there, he could have just traded one Eric Cantor.”

On ABC’s Sunday broadcast of “This Week,” both Ingraham and Cantor were asked about the joke. During his interview Cantor said he felt the comment “cheapened the debate.” Ingraham responded during the political roundtable segment saying “If he can’t take a joke about a prisoner swap, he has no sense of humor … that’s why he lost, probably.”
