Video: BBC Reporter Trapped in Battle Surrounded by ISIS Snipers

As the crisis in Iraq is marching ever closer to Baghdad as evidenced today by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) gaining partial control of the countries largest domestic oil refinery, the BBC’s Paul Wood reported from the front lines while being embedded with Kurdish forces desperately fighting off ISIS militants in the town of Jalula. While reporting Wood and half a dozen Kurdish forces instantly came under heavy fire from ISIS snipers. As the small group is surrounded one soldier is shot in the leg.

Kurdish forces are currently in control of their claimed but disputed territories in Nineveh and Kirkuk and are assisting the Iraq Army in their attempt to hold back ISIS militants from gaining control of the capital which is the center of embattled Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki’s government…
