On Monday’s broadcast of ABC’s “The View,” HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher made a stop on the set to promote a video he appeared on behalf of PETA in denouncing horse-drawn carriages in New York City. But also during that appearance, he spoke about the issues of the day including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s potential 2016 presidential run.
Maher said he believed Clinton would run, but he also took aim at former Bush deputy chief of staff Karl Rove, who questioned Clinton’s brain health earlier this year.
“Well, she’s that definitely going to run,” Maher said. “That’s crazy. She wants to run like a tick wants blood. This is a Clinton. I mean, this is what they do. And she’s used to it. Look what Karl Rove did to her a couple weeks ago – the thing about brain damage, and just saying, ‘Well, I’m not saying she does. I’m just putting it out there.’
“I wonder if Karl Rove’s gay lover that he murdered — oh, I’m not saying it’s true,” he continued. “I’m just putting it out there. I would welcome someone to say if whether it’s true or not.”
Maher also said he didn’t vote for Clinton in 2008, but voted for the “boy,” Barack Obama.
“I voted for the boy who won – oh I didn’t mean it that way,” he added.
