US Archivist: IRS 'Did Not Follow the Law' on Lost Lerner Emails

Tuesday, David Ferriero, an archivist from the National Archives and Records Administration, testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform about the Internal Revenue Service’s claims that Lois Lerner and other top officials involved in the Tea Party targeting scandal’s computers crashed making two years of emails unrecoverable.

Ferriero said his office was not contacted by the IRS as they were legally required to by the Federal Records Act when Lois Lerner’s emails were lost meaning “they did not follow the law.”
