CNN's Blitzer: 'What's the Big Complaint' with 'Conservative' Cochran?

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer asked why conservatives were upset with “conservative, long-time Republican” Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) primary victory during an interview with fellow CNN anchor Michael Smerconish. 

Blitzer asked, “Why are these guys so angry? What’s the big complaint about the Thad Cochran win? He is after all a conservative and he is a long-time Republican.” 

Smerconish responded that those critical of Cochran’s tactics were merely “placating their respective bases,” had interests that “don’t align with the interests of the Republican Party.”  Smerconish also argued that the Republican Party should “replicate” Cochran’s strategy.
