Obama 2012: Executive Order 'DREAM Act' Will Strengthen US Economy, Security

In June 2012, President Barack Obama announced he would be signing an executive order to stop the United States from deporting young illegal immigrants by claiming, “As long as I’m president I will not give up on this issue not only because its the do right thing to do for our economic, and CEO’s agree with me, not just because its the right thing to do for our security but because Its the right thing to do period.”

In that announcement at the White House Rose Garden, Obama was interrupted by Neil Munro, a reporter from the Daily Caller and Obama argued, “These young people are going to make extraordinary contribution” and added that they could “start a business that will create jobs for other folks.”

Over the weekend the White House announced Obama will seek over $2 billion in emergency funds to respond to the flood of unaccompanied minors illegally entering the United States and overwhelming the border states facilities and resources.

Wednesday, Texas legislators approved sending $1.3 million a week for at least a year to aid in the humanitarian crisis.
