O'Reilly: Obama's Presidency a 'Performance Failure, Not a Patriotic Failure'

Back in February, in an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “The O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly recounted his pre-Super Bowl interview with President Barack Obama. O’Reilly called it the toughest interview of his life, but also said he considered Obama to be a “patriot.”

Shortly thereafter, O’Reilly took criticism for those remarks, but he stuck to them.

On his Wednesday night broadcast, O’Reilly revisited those remarks in responding to a viewer’s email and said he still believes Obama to “patriot” but called his policies a “performance failure” and not a “patriotic failure.”

“Daniel Plum, Cable, WI – ‘O’Reilly, your ‘Talking Points’ continued to prove President Obama is failing as the leader of the free world. Do you still believe he is a patriot?’” O’Reilly said. “I am so glad you asked that question, Dan. When I said that to Jimmy [Kimmel] a few months ago, some on the right got very upset with me. So, here’s the deal. I believe Barack Obama sincerely wants to help the have-nots in America. I believe that. That’s patriotic. But I also believe, based on the facts, that his policies have largely failed to do that and have even brought less prosperity to the poor precincts. That is a performance failure, not a patriotic failure.”
