NATO Announces Upgrade of Eastern Europe Military Presence in Response to Russian Aggression

Monday in Brussels, NATO head Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced an upgrade of military readiness in response to Russia’s aggression into Eastern Ukraine

The NATO strike force will be a significantly enhanced “response force” in Eastern Europe.

In referring to it as a “spearhead,” Rasmussen said the force will be maintained as a  “very high readiness force’ able to deploy in a short notice and will be supplied by member states in rotation.
