SEIU Chief: 'Civil Rights-Inspired' Arrests Aim to Bring Burger Makers to Nat'l Negotiation Table

Thursday on “The Bill Press Show,” Mary Kay Henry, president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) said last month she participated in a “fast food workers” Chicago meeting where it was decided the “next step” would be to take inspiration from their “civl rights ancestors” and plan a national movement today to have people arrested while protesting at high profile fast food restaurants around the country.

The head of SEIU explained the propose behind these planned arrests was to “achieve a national settlement with the multinational corporations that sell burgers in the U.S. So it would be the workers vision to have McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King to come to a national bargaining table and achieve a national settlement.”
