Fmr Speechwriter: Obama 'Doesn't Follow the Polls'

Adam Frankel, former Senior Speechwriter for President Barack Obama, declared that the president “is not somebody who pays attention to the polls” on Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “@This Hour.”

“The president is somebody who does what’s right. The president is not somebody who pays attention to the polls. He did what was right when it came to taking out Bin Laden. He’s done what is right when it comes to hitting ISIL,” Frankel stated.

He also blasted the president’s critics, saying “the critics can make their accusations about no strategy,” to which anchor John Berman pointed out “he’s [Obama’s] the one who said that.”

Frankel concluded, “the reality is he doesn’t telegraph this strategy…this is somebody who does what’s right and doesn’t follow the polls.”  Earlier, he predicted that during tonight’s address “what you’ll hear the president say tonight is some of what we’re not doing. We’re not going to be committing a lot of ground troops in Iraq. We’re not going to be sending hundreds of thousands of troops to occupy Iraq.”
