Wednesday night on the eve of the 13th anniversary of September 11, 2001 terror attacks, President Barack Obama addressed the nation on the actions his administration is taking to combat the threat of The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS also know as ISIL) but saying ISIL is neither Islamic or a state.
“Now lets make two things clear — ISIL is not Islamic no religion condones the killing of innocents the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim,” Obama said. “ISIL is certainly not a state. It was formally al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Iraq.”
