State Dept Defends Iraqi PM: Let's Not Jump to Conclusions, We Are Looking Into Subway Attack Report

Thursday on CNN “Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer,” State Depratment Deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf quickly jumped to defend Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi for claiming ISIS was plotting an attack on New York subways.

When asked if he was “the man for the job,” Harf insisted, “Well, let’s not jump to any conclusions that he may have from his own intelligence sources. We are working to look at these allegations.”

She continued, “The president and secretary are impressed by the vision that he has displayed for a more inclusive Iraq that brings together Sunni, Shia, and Kurds, to have a better future. We’ve heard him say the right things. He’s done many of the right things. He’s put forward a plan to bring country to fight back against this very terrible threat.”
