CNN’s “Wolf” anchor Wolf Blitzer asked why President Obama wasn’t getting credit for the economy during an interview with DNC Chair and Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) on Wednesday.
“The economy has clearly improved over these past six years … but he [Obama] doesn’t get much credit for that, why?” Blitzer asked.
Wasserman-Schultz responded, “This is a president who inherited more problems at once than any president since FDR and really has continued to keep his head down, focus on what’s important without cooperation whatsoever from the Republicans … one year ago today they voted to shut the government down in the name of denying people access to quality, affordable healthcare … we’re facing an election, Wolf, in which Republicans like Mitch McConnell [and] Marco Rubio are threatening [that] if they’re in charge that they’re going to do that yet again. Use those tactics if they don’t get their way, shut the government down, and really throw this economy into chaos.”
