Weekend Update: Sharpton Has Experience Defending the President

NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” poked fun at MSNBC anchor Al Sharpton for his pro-Obama bias, misreporting of facts, and trouble reading teleprompters and pronouncing words during their “Weekend Update” segment.

When Sharpton is asked what he thinks is going on with the Secret Service, he responds “I don’t know. It’s a secret.”  He then gets basic facts on the White House security breaches wrong, reporting “From everything I’m hearing on the streets, this man went the White House, sat down in the Lincoln Bedroom, ordered a sandwich, and watched the Obama family’s personal DVD of Lee Daniels’ The Butler for an hour before somebody asked what was going on.” He further says “they got this new virus, it’s called Ebola. That you can get through your e-mail.”

Sharpton also mispronounces his own network as “Ms. NBC,” which he thinks is “NBC for ladies or something” in addition to other verbal miscues.

He concludes by declaring “I protect Barack Obama as hard as I can every night from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Ms. NBC. Even when he personally told me to stop it” when asked what he would do to protect the president.
