Halperin: Democrat Senate Candidates 'Furious' with Obama

Bloomberg Politics’ “With All Due Respect” host Mark Halperin said that “every Democratic Senate campaign we’ve talked to” is “furious” about President Obama’s remarks that his policies are on the ballot in 2014 during an interview with White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Tuesday.

Halperin asked “why, if the president didn’t say anything wrong, is every Democratic Senate campaign we’ve talked to furious about what he said?” Earnest denied that any Democratic Senate candidates were upset, while Halperin maintained that many were.  Halperin went as far as to bet Earnest $100 that President Obama would not repeat the line.

Earnest also stated that “the president is proud of the kinds of decisions he made when Secretary Panetta was Secretary of Defense, it’s made the country safer” in response to questioning about former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s criticism of the president.
