CDC Chief: African Ebola Spread 'Threat to Our Health System for Some Time to Come

Thursday at a congressional hearing on the  U.S. Response to Ebola Outbreak the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Tom Frieden said his greatest fear about Ebola is if it is allowed to spread in Africa it will be a threat to the United States for a long time.

Frieden said, “To protect the United States, we have to stop it at the source. There is a lot of fear of Ebola. I will tell you, as the director of CDC, one of the things I fear about Ebola, is that it could spread more widely in Africa. if this were to happen, it could become a threat to our health system and the health care we give for a long time to come.”
