Levin Criticizes McConnell For Shutdown Stance

Talk radio host and author of “The Liberty Amendments,” Mark Levin criticized Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for his statement during a press conference that there would not be a government shutdown if he became Senate Majority Leader on Wednesday.

He stated “the Republican leadership just handed the power of the purse back to the president.” And “that means, ladies and gentlemen, that the power of the purse was once again surrendered by Mitch McConnell…to the president of the United States, there’s nothing left, there’s nothing that can be done, there’s no leverage now,” and that the Congress should keep a shutdown on the table as a means to curb spending.
