House Judiciary Chair: Secret Service on Cell Phone During Fence Jumping

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) said that the “comedy of errors” by the Secret Service had him “very, very concerned” for the president’s safety in an interview on Friday’s “Real Story” on the Fox News Channel.

Goodlatte reported that one of the White House fence jumpers who was able to get into the White House with a knife was not “identified properly ahead of time because they were looking at him, but not looking at him properly, going over the fence, seeing him go over the fence, but then the person on the other side of the fence not paying attention, talking on his personal cell phone, the guard dog he had with him was not able to be focused on this intruder and it all went wrong from there.”
