Obama: Compromise Is a Necessary 'Part of Wisdom'

This weekend in Brisbane, Australia, President Barack Obama addressed the University of Queensland and told the students practicality and compromise are part of wisdom.

The president was making the case for not holding China more responsible for their human rights violations when as he appears to be in the midst of a stalemate with congressional Republicans on immigration reform, unable to reach a compromise. 

“For the young people here, practicality is a good thing,” Obama said. “There are times when compromise is necessary. That’s part of wisdom.”
