MSNBC Analyst: Hagel Had Responsibility, But Not Power
MSNBC Military Analyst and Ret. Col. Jack Jacobs argued that the White House made Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel responsible but not giving him the power to handle his responsibilities on Saturday’s “Up” on MSNBC.

“Anybody who’s going to take the job next is going to either have to not be flattered by being selected or in the alternative world say ‘I’ll take this job, but these are my requirements and you can’t do everything from the White House'” he stated. And “I think the White House tried to separate authority and responsibility by making the Secretary of Defense responsible, but didn’t give him the authority to get stuff done.”
