Bill Clinton: We Have Got To ‘Get Beyond’ Racist Preconceptions ‘Wired Into Us’

During his interview at the Clinton Foundation’s “Future of the Americas” summit in Miami, former President Bill Clinton told Fusion’s Jorge Ramos that, despite what happened with Eric Garner, in some ways race relations in America are “way better,” but we still need to “get beyond,” racist preconceptions “wired into us.”

Clinton said but, “Whenever there is insecurity, I think that these preconceptions are almost wired into us and we have got to get beyond them.”

On Eric Garner Clinton said, “He was doing something he shouldn’t be doing,” but added, “He didn’t deserve to die.”
