Rubio: Jeb Running Won’t Change My 2016 Decision

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said if former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) runs for president in 2016 that will not have any effect on his decision to run.

When host Chuck Todd asked the junior Florida senator if he could imagine running in same primary as Jeb Bush, Rubio said, “He will be a very formidable candidate. He’s someone I have respect for. When you reach a point where you are thinking about running for president as I am, what you have to make your decision is on is not on who is running, it’s on whether you think that’s the right place to achieve your agenda and serve your country. If I make that decision that that’s the right place for me to serve at this moment in my life I will run for president. That’s what my decision will be built on but I have tremendous respect for Jeb Bush.”
