Tom Bevan: Obama’s Idea of Bipartisanship Was ‘Do What I Want’

RealClearPolitics co-founder and Executive Editor Tom Bevan argued that “up until now” President Obama’s idea of bipartisanship was “do what I want,” although he said Republicans had “basically…the same attitude.” on Monday’s “Happening Now on the Fox News Channel.

“Up until now, the president’s–his idea of bipartisan ship was sort of  ‘do what i want and I’ll sign the bills and it’ll be great,’ and Republicans have basically adopted the same attitude” he stated.  Adding, “I’m not sure that there’s a whole lot of things that they can sort of quickly get done, in terms of bipartisanship. So, I think it’s going to be rough going.” And “both sides have come to sort of distrust each other and the well is poisoned and the question is: Can that well be unpoisoned, will the next Congress be an opportunity to sort of start fresh on some issues? But it is hard to see how that’s going to happen.”
