ESPN’s Whitlock: Brian Williams a ‘Punchline,’ Has to Go

In an appearance on Colin Cowherd’s radio on Friday as a guest of Cowherd’s ESPN radio show “The Herd With Colin Cowherd,” Jason Whitlock, a sportswriter for ESPN, responded to Cowherd’s question about what he would have done if he was NBC after finding out about his embellished stories. NBC suspended Brian Williams for 6 months without pay after learning about his false claims.

Whitlock says that has to be fired, which Cowherd responded by calling him a “moralist.”

Whitlock then backed up his statement by saying, “Because what’s happened now is they’ve done a deep dive on all of his work and it’s like, it’s like the Bill Cosby effect, and so I think there are going to be more and more stories coming out about him exaggerating his work so his credibility has been shot.”
