Mueller Family: ISIS Wanted Lady al Qaeda Swap for Kayla

Monday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” the family of Kayla Mueller revealed ISIS asked to swap Aafia Siddiqui, aka Lady al Qaeda, a Pakistani citizen who obtained a doctorate in neuroscience  in the United States and was arrested in 2008 in Afghanistan with  documents containing instructions for making dirty bombs and chemical weapons.

A James Foley-Lady al Qaeda swap was also attempted by ISIS.

When NBC’s Savannah Guthrie asked the  family of Kayla Mueller, “During this time while Kayla was being held, the U.S. traded five Taliban prisoners for Bowe Bergdahl. How did you feel about that?” Kayla’s father explained, “That made the whole situation worse because that’s when the demands got greater. They got larger. They realized that they had something. They realized that if they are going to let five people go for one person, why won’t they do this or why won’t they do that.”

Kayla’s father said he asked the White House to consider an ISIS proposed swap for Aafia Siddiqui, saying, “In some of our communications they just said, they just traded five for one. We want one for one, which was the trade for Aafia Siddiqui.”
