Dem Rep Gabbard: ‘I’m Cynical’ About Iran Deal

Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) reported “I’m cynical about whether this deal can happen” regarding US negotiations with Iran on Tuesday’s “On the Record” on the Fox News Channel.

“I think you have to talk about enrichment, the fact that that has already been conceded, really makes this negotiation a lot tougher. And the other issue, there are many issues, but the other main one, is the issue of access that you’ve just talked about. The lack of transparency, the fact that the UN inspectors still don’t have the access that was promised to them in this temporary deal. So, I’m cynical. I’m cynical about whether this deal can happen” she said.

Gabbard continued, “I think, for me coming from the State of Hawaii, I look to the agreement that happened with North Korea, and see how well that’s gone and make sure that as we go through this period over the next few weeks, especially, we look back to that and learn from it because my constituents in Hawaii sit there, understanding that now nuclear — North Korea is nuclear armed. They have intercontinental ballistic missiles, with Hawaii sitting squarely in its crosshairs as North Korea rattles its saber as we speak.
