Tea Party Patriots (TPP) will be out in force Wednesday to make their voices heard as the U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments King v. Burwell, the historic case that could decide the future of Obamacare.
“We’re hopeful that the Justices will apply the plain meaning of the words in the statute,” TPP President Jenny Beth Martin said. “The law clearly says that Obamacare subsidies are legal only in states that have set up healthcare exchanges.”
Many legal experts have predicted if the Court rules that the words in the statute mean what they say, President Obama’s nationalization of the healthcare system will be unraveled.
“Once that happens,” Martin added, “we can regroup and work toward, conservative, market-based healthcare solutions that put patients first. Polling data is clear that Americans don’t want a top-down, one-size-fits-all government solution. That’s our message.”
