ESPN’s Gutierrez: Tiger Woods ‘Has Become the Chicago Cubs of Golf’

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “Around the Horn” on ESPN, ESPN reporter and frequent guest of the show Israel Gutierrez responded to the question if oft-injured golfer Tiger Woods would make the cut for The Masters, which begins Thursday.

According to Gutierrez, Woods will make the cut, but he then compared Woods to the Chicago Cubs, who have not won the World Series since 1908, after Woods proclaimed to be back and ready to compete after recovering from injury.

“I was trying to think who does Tiger Woods sound like? It’s always something. ‘This is my time. This is my time.’ He has become the Chicago Cubs of golf.”
