WH Spox: Sen Grassley Needs To Look Up ‘Duplicitous’ in the Dictionary

Thursday at the White House press briefing, press secretary Josh Earnest called the words of Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) “duplicitous” when he was speaking about the delay on confirming Loretta Lynch as Eric Holder’s replacement for attorney general.

Earnest was referring to Grassley saying last year that President Barack Obama should take his time and find a qualified candidate for attorney general, as opposed to today when the Iowa sentor told Bloomberg news that when complaining about the Republicans causing a long wait on the confirmation vote for Loretta Lynch, one cannot count November and December, when the Democrats were in charge.

When a reporter asked if calling a Republican senator “duplicitous” was the best way to move forward, Earnest shot back, “Being nice has gotten us a 160-day delay, so maybe after they look up  ‘duplicitous’ in the dictionary, we will get a different result.”
