Fmr Romney Mgr: Jeb Not ‘Leader of the Field,’ GOP Establishment ‘Very Divided’

Republican consultant and Deputy Campaign Manager for Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign, Katie Packer Gage challenged the idea that “Jeb Bush is somehow the leader of the field” and said that in the Republican Party “the establishment is now very divided” on Saturday’s “Up with Steve Kornacki” on MSNBC.

“I would just sort of challenge the notion anymore that Jeb Bush is somehow the leader of the field and the establishment guy. I think the establishment is now very divided. I don’t think that there is sort of a favorite. Early on, back in January, a lot of folks in DC and the east coast were kind of lining up behind Jeb Bush. I didn’t hear a lot of that enthusiasm outside of the eastern seaboard. Now even in those places, that has been diluted a fair amount. Marco had a very, very strong week. Scott Walker has said a lot of things that people are excited about” she stated.
