Biden: Irish Catholic Father’s Dream of Daughter Marrying Jewish Surgeon

Thursday at the Israeli embassy while speaking at the 67th anniversary of Israel’s declaration of independence, Vice President Joe Biden said, “The dream of every Irish Catholic father is for his daughter to marry a Jewish surgeon.”

Starting off his remarks by declaring he knows the differences between Irish Catholic family and Jewish family fights because, Biden said, “Two of my three children married Jews.”

He went on to say, “The dream of every Irish Catholic father is for his daughter to marry a Jewish surgeon.”

Biden then told the tale of his daughter’s wedding to a Jewish man in a Catholic church with a rabbi and a priest co-officiating in great detail.

Biden said he had to drive all the way to Montgomery County, PA to find a willing rabbi who only agreed to do it because “his mother loved me.”

Biden ended his odd story by saying, “Look, I figured it out — the one way to end arguments is to marry them.”
