Joint Chiefs Chair Nominee: Russia Is ‘Greatest Threat to Our National Security’

Gen. Joseph Dunford Jr., the nominee to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that Russia is the “greatest threat” to the US’ national security before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday.

Dunford was asked by Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) what he would consider “the greatest threat to our national security.” Dunford replied, “My assessment today, Senator, is that Russia represents the greatest threat to our national security.”
