Trump: McCain Should Apologize For Calling People Worried About Illegal Immigration Crazies

Sunday, on ABC’s “This Week,” Republican presidential candidate and billionaire business mogul Donald Trump refused to apologize for his comments about Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ), adding that it’s McCain who owes an apology.

Saturday, at the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa Trump said McCain is “a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured”

Trump said via phone Sunday morning that he doesn’t owe McCain an apology, and “I’m very disappointed in John McCain, because the vets are horribly treated in this country. I’m fighting for the vets. I’ve done a lot for the vets. And the vets — I’ve been going around one the campaign trail, they’re treated like third citizens. He’s done nothing to help the vets.”

He continued, “This all started Martha, when we had thousands and thousands of people in Phoenix, Arizona…who by the way, are devastated by illegal immigration, something that I’m very proud to have brought to the forefront. We have thousands of people, and he said they’re all crazies. He called them ‘crazies.’ And frankly, I think he owes them an apology.”
