Iowa State junior defensive lineman Mitchell Meyers wrapped up his chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma on Friday, finding a pleasant surprise in the waiting room.
As he entered the waiting room, he was met by a handful of teammates clapping and cheering him on.
According to ESPN, Meyers, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year, did not miss a summer workout and is expected to join his team again at some point this fall after undergoing radiation treatment.
