Chris Matthews: Iran Is Not An Existential Threat to the US

MSNBC’s “Hardball” host Chris Matthews declared that Iran isn’t an existential threat to the US, even under “the wildest, worst thought, hellish predictions” on Monday.

Matthews stated, “In the wildest, worst thought, hellish predictions, Iran’s not a threat to the United States’ existence. Phrases like that amaze me, what are they talking about?”

Earlier, Matthews said that Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s comments brought the debate to a “new low level.” And “This guy’s accusing anybody that disagrees with him of being a Hitlerite.” Matthews also accused former Florida Governor and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush of invoking the Holocaust and World War II by characterizing the Iran deal as “appeasement” not “diplomacy.”
