The West Palm Beach, FL suburb of Riveira Beach voted on Wednesday to rename a strip of highway known as “Old Dixie Highway” in its city to “President Barack Obama Highway” according to a report from West Palm Beach NBC affiliate WPTV.
The name change still must be approved by the Palm Beach County, FL County Commission before it is final. However, the move by the city council did meet some resistance. Ultimately, after public comment and deliberation among council members, four of the five members of the city council voted to approve the change.
