Trump on Alabama Rally: It’s a ‘Real Happening’

On Friday evening in Mobile, AL, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he expects to participate in a rally promoting his presidential candidacy that will have at least 30,000 people in attendance.

Earlier in the day on local Mobile, AL FM Talk 106.5, Trump was interviewed by “Midday Mobile” host Sean Sullivan and explained how the event came to be and why his appearance is predicted to be hot ticket among the locals.

“A group of friends – and you know I’m very close to a lot of people – a lot of friends in Alabama,” he said. “This is just an amazing place. It’s my people. We’re all workers. We all work hard, we think hard and we love the country. And they wanted me to go to Mobile and what happened is we took a hotel ballroom that held like a thousand people and the company – the hotel company calls us up and says we’re getting swamped. And, ‘We don’t have enough room for this.’”

“And then they took another one that was larger and then another one and they went to I believe your convention center and I think it holds 10,000 people,” he continued. “And within a few minutes we were wiped out of that one because we were way over and then they end up going to your stadium – that’s the Ladd-Peebles because that was the only thing that could hold it. It’s become like a happening. It’s become an event and a real happening.”
