Huckabee: As President Maybe You Do Resign if Forced to Violate Your Conscience

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) was asked on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday if he would take the same position as former President John F. Kennedy, who said in a speech he would resign if something caused him to violate his conscience.

Huckabee explained that he cannot see “any circumstance” in a presidency that would require him to violate his conscience, but if so, he said that he would either resign or tell them to put him in jail.

“I can’t see any circumstance in which I would be required to violate my conscience and the law,” Huckabee said. “And, if so, I think maybe there is a point in which you say either, ‘I’ll resign or put me in jail.'”
