MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-hosts former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, along with Bloomberg Politics Managing Editor John Heilemann stated Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton started the rumors about President Obama being a Muslim on Monday.
Scarborough said, “It was rich this weekend…for Hillary Clinton to come out and criticize anybody for spreading the rumors about Barack Obama when it all started with her, and her campaign, passing things around in the Democratic primary, rich. Now listen, the Republicans are wrong for doing what they’re doing. It started, this started with Hillary Clinton and it was spread by the Clinton team.”
Brzezinski agreed, adding that the rumors started with Clinton’s interview on “60 Minutes,” and stating, “We’re just telling the truth.”
After former Democratic senatorial candidate Harold Ford Jr. stated that he didn’t “recall” Clinton doing so.
Heilemann then stated, “It was the case.” He further said,”I’m affirming the Scarborough-Brzezinski assertion.”
