Douglas County Commissioner: ‘Unfortunate’ Gun Control Will Be In the Air During Obama Visit

Douglas County, Oregon County Commissioner Chris Boice (R) said “it’s unfortunate” that “we are talking about politics in the middle of this tragedy” and that gun control will be part of the atmosphere of President Obama’s visit on Tuesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.

Boice said that he wasn’t going to pre-judge the president’s visit in the wake of Umpqua Community College shooting, and that it would be “great” if the president was only coming to visit the families of victims.

He added, after host Bill O’Reilly stated that gun control will still be “in the air,” during the president’s visit, “Yeah, I understand, and it’s unfortunate, because, you know, our goal from the beginning of this has not been to make this about politics, and here we are talking about politics in the middle of this tragedy.”
