Sex Educator Emily Nagoski: ‘Slut’ Is the Term People Use to Give Them Excuse to Touch Women Without Permission

Smith College director of Wellness Education and sex educator Emily Nagoski responded Saturday on MSNBC’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” to the Amber Rose “Slut Walk” and the treatment of women in America.

According to Nagoski, slut-shaming in “white-supremacist, patriarchal, fat-shaming, anti-pleasure America” is the narrative used by men to touch a woman without her consent.

“‘Slut’ gets used as the narrative that gives men permission in white-supremacist, patriarchal, fat-shaming, anti-pleasure America. It’s the language that we give that says, ‘This is a woman you have permission to touch without her consent.”
