CNN’s Tapper: If You Think Hillary Accusing Bernie of Sexism Was Identity Politics, ‘You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’

On Monday, CNN’s “The Lead” host Jake Tapper said that if you believe that Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton responding to fellow candidate Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) statement that “all the shouting in the world” wouldn’t stop guns from getting in the hands of the wrong people with “sometimes when a woman speaks out, some people think it’s shouting” was “identity politics,” “you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

Tapper stated that there is “a real gender gap” in the reaction to Clinton’s comments, “because I have to say, my reaction is he wasn’t talking about her, why is she accusing him of being sexist? And every woman I talk to reacts…’Why are you offended about this one thing, as opposed to the one fact we can’t go anywhere without being accused of shouting?'”

Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol remarked that Clinton “invented something there. There was a cute point. But, you know, she’s playing identity politics. That’s what the democratic party is all about.”

Tapper then said, “But I’m saying, if you think that this is identity politics, Bill, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Wait until she — if she gets the nomination.”
