Tuesday on ABC’s “The View,” former NBA player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump should “treat everybody equally and he can’t seem to do that.”
Co-host Joy Behar asked, “Kareem, you wrote an article in The Washington Post, which I happened to have read. It was not very flattering to Trump. It was called, “This is the Difference between Donald Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).” Trump was not happy with it and he wrote you this letter which I will read and then you can respond. ‘Kareem, now I know why the press always treated you so badly,’ says Donald. ‘They couldn’t stand you. The fact is that you don’t have a clue about life and what has to be done to make America great again. best wishes, Donald Trump.’ So what was your response to his response?”
Abdul-Jabbar said “Well, I felt that what he had to say proved my point. The fact that he wanted to be so rude. There was a gentleman that did the Hispanic broadcast….Telemundo, and they treated him like crap. Why? Because he was from Telemundo. I thought that was — that shouldn’t be happening. They should treat everybody equally and he can’t seem to do that.”
