Cincinnati Mayor Announces ‘Bold Initiative’ to Make City ‘Most Immigrant Friendly City in the Country’

Cincinnati, OH Mayor John Cranley announced that he wants to make Cincinnati “the most immigrant friendly city in the country.”

According to WCPO, Mayor Cranley laid out a plan of what he called “a bold initiative” to achieve “the most immigrant friendly city” in a six-page report, with recommendations from the Mayor’s Task Force on Immigration.

“We are emphatically saying, ‘We love immigration, we want more immigration; we believe that it’s key to our economic future and to a better more just society,'” Cranley said.

Cranley said the two-year plan would improve service gaps in immigrant housing, help immigrants start businesses, bring students to the area and make sure the international community thrives.
