Scarborough: GOP a ‘Wholly Owned Subsidiary’ of Trump, Carson

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough reacted to the results of the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, conducted prior to last week’s GOP presidential debate, and a Morning Consult tracking poll, conducted after that debate. Both show Donald Trump and Ben Carson at the head the pack nationally, either in first or second place.

According to Scarborough, those polls suggest the GOP is now owned by both of those two men.

“So let’s stop and let’s look at that poll,” Scarborough said. “We saw the NBC poll. look at this poll … this is a poll right after the debate. And we’ve been sitting here talking about who’s going to move this way, who’s going to move that way. Whether you’re looking at this poll taken completely after the debate where Donald Trump is at 31 [percent] to 21 [percent,] and Trump had his best debate performance without a doubt, or the NBC poll. Michael Steele, the Republican Party — our Republican Party is still a wholly owned subsidiary of two men.”
